Earlier this month, estimates by analyst Tim Long from BMO Capital Markets suggested that Apple accounted for 103.6 percent of the total smartphone industry's profit in Q3, compared with 90 percent of the total share a year ago.Now, a new report by Strategy Analytics has claimed that the Cupertino-based company accounted for 91 percent of smartphone industry's profit during the quarter.Global smartphone industry generated a total of $9.4 billion in operating profits during Q3 while Apple registered a record share in all smartphone industry's profits, as per report by Strategy Analytics.

Move over Samsung: Huawei is the most profitable Android smartphone supplier
Huawei Technologies, China's largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer, has displaced Samsung Electronics to become the second most profitable smartphone supplier in the world in the three months ended September 30, according to research firm Strategy Analytics.The Shenzhen-based company had a 2.4 per cent share of the global smartphone operating profits in the third quarter, behind US technology giant Apple's dominant 91 per cent share."It also became the world's most profitable Android smartphone vendor for the first time," Strategy Analytics executive director Neil Mawston told the South China Morning Post on Wednesday.
