SHANGHAI -- On June 28 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2017, China Mobile and Huawei jointly showcased the world's first 5G core network prototype on the service-based architecture (SBA). The successful prototype demonstration offers strong support to 3GPP in standardizing 5G network functions and protocol design, and lays a solid foundation for the IMT-2020 Promotion Group's 5G core network testing. Shi Jilin, Vice President of Huawei's Cloud Core Network Product Line, said, "SBA is the basis of 5G network architecture. For the first time, the prototype enables key 5G core network functions that are consistent with 3GPP's service-based architecture. She added, "Huawei will continue to invest in the research and development of 5G core network based on SBA, so as to help China Mobile and global carriers prepare for the 5G era."


as informed in Chinese smartphone maker Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. plans to build a factory in Japan for network equipment production, according to Japanese media reports. Huawei is currently the world's third largest smartphone manufacturer in terms of market share, behind Apple and Samsung, accounting for 10% of global market share. It marks the first full-scale factory to be built by a Chinese company in Japan. The company claims that the Flex manufacturing plant will have the capacity to produce three million units by the end of 2017. Last year, the company shipped 139.3 million units, up 30.2% year-on-year.

Huawei Technologies along with SAIC Motor and China Mobile tests remote driving

Mobile World Congress Shanghai:The MWC – Mobile World Congress for the year is being conducted in Shanghai. So, Huawei Technologies has got together with SAIC Motor and China Mobile so that they could test the 5G-based remote driving technology. The remote driving test:During this test from Huawei, the driving was located some 30 kilometers away from the vehicle. Huawei Technologies has to hold hand with SAIC Motor and China Mobile. The purpose of the tie-up is to make the remote driving possible.
