Huawei Consumer Business revenue increased 36.2 percent to CNY 105.4 billion or $15.6 billion for the first six months of 2017. Huawei excels"Our Consumer Business Group continued to deliver extraordinary growth, beating the industry average and penetrating high-end markets around the globe," said Richard Yu, chief executive officer of Huawei's Consumer Business Group. Market research firms GfK and Sino said Huawei's Honor brand topped both Internet smartphone sales volume and sales revenue in China from January to May, 2017. Huawei did not reveal the second quarter revenue for its consumer business. Huawei said its smartphone shipments rose 20.6 percent to 73.01 million.

In South Africa, Huawei said it has also increased its market share with growth in the mid- to high-end smartphone market. Huawei said that in Q1, market share rose to 9.8% of the global smartphone market, citing industry analysts IDC. South Africa remains within the top performing countries in Huawei global sales."Huawei said its P lite series has recorded strong sales figures over the last two years with shipment into South Africa sitting at over a million units. Huawei Consumer Business Group said on Thursday that sales revenue for the first six months of 2017 increased by 36.2% year-on-year to 105.4 billion yuan, with South Africa within the top performing countries for global sales. Smartphone shipments also climbed to 73.01 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 20.6%, the mobile phone maker said.
