Senators propose bill to ban unite states from using Huawei, ZTE equipment
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - 2 Republican Senators introduced legislation on Wednesday which would ban the unite states government from buying or leasing telecommunications equipment from Huawei smartphone Technologies Co Ltd or ZTE Corp, citing concern the Chinese companies would use their access to spy on unite states officials. "Huawei is effectively an arm of the Chinese government, and it's more than enable to of stealing data from unite states officials with hacking its devices," Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton said. "There are plenty of other companies which could meet our technology needs, and we shouldn't make it any easier for China to spy on us," he added.
